4 Foods That Could Lower Your Breast Cancer Risk

(BlackDoctor.org) -- Here’s one more reason to always eat your veggies: Women who incorporate plenty of grains and veggies into their diet may be able to reduce their chances of developing breast cancer.

In a German Study, researchers examined 192 premenopausal women who had breast cancer and 231 who did not. They found that those women without breast cancer had a higher blood level of enterolactone, which is an antioxidant that can be found in such foods as flaxseed, whole grains, berries and leafy vegetables.

Here are some quick tips on how to incorporate these foods into your daily diet:

Flaxseed Try grinding up this tiny seed and sprinkling it on top of your morning yogurt or bowl of cereal. Flaxseed can also be added to baked goods, so toss a tablespoon or two into that muffin batter.

Berries These tasty treats make a great mid-afternoon snack. Also try adding them to your morning bowl of cereal.

Leafy Vegetables This includes everything from watercress to celery to cabbage to lettuce and much more. Try incorporating salad as part of your dinner every night-and go easy on the salad dressing.

Whole Grains There are a whole bunch of whole grains out there, and fall is the perfect time to take advantage of them. Try adding some barley or quinoa to a hearty autumn stew, or simply enjoy a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.
