(www.BlackDoctor.org) -- You don’t hear much about the benefits of vitamin K, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In fact, according to a report in the Archives of Internal Medicine, vitamin K is actually crucial for achieving good bone health.
Researchers conducted five studies on vitamin K intake among 600 women. They found that those women who took a daily dose of 45 milligrams or more of vitamin K were actually 77 percent less likely to break their hips and 60 percent less likely to fracture their vertebrae.
Though they have yet to decide upon the best dosage size, researchers strongly urge everyone to make sure they are getting enough vitamin K in their diet. How? Just be sure to load up on your green veggies. This includes any of the following: endive, kale, broccoli and collard greens.
